Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

March 30th, 2010.

The SilentBiodynamic Craniosacral therapy works with a phenomenon called “Primary Respiration,” the original matrix of nourishment that we were surrounded by as a baby in our mother’s womb.

Long before we had taken our first breath of air, our body was receiving oxygen and metabolic ignition from a complex, slow-tempo fluid exchange both inside the embryo and through the umbilical cord. Our nerves are the only cells in the body that we have throughout our entire life and when our nervous system develops before our birth, its functionality is imprinted with the experience of being in an aquatic environment.

The latest research is that we are 92% water so our original respiration rate, that of slow fluid exchange, never leaves our nervous system because it is the job of the nerves to transmit charges, exchange information and receive imprinting. The problem in our fast-paced, manic age of information is that our sensitive nerves get wound up so tight that our nerves rarely get an opportunity to relax into their original imprinted experience of slow, still movement and gradual metabolic/ fluid breathing.

When a craniosacral therapist works with primary respiration, the patient/client experiences deep states of relaxation as the nerves re-stabilize and are reminded of their generating, healing and growth capacities that are extremely powerful inside the womb. The self-regulating mechanisms of the body, mind and spirit have a chance to “boot up” and health is optimized in these gentle experiences.

The practitioner creates a therapeutic relationship with the client over time so that the client will be educated to self-regulate and maintain their increased ability to experience vitality, stillness and peace.
